Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our participants know how important mental well-being is for our generation. We brought Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), a national mental health program, to our school campus. We received an abundance of positive feedback for this initiative from our peers and teachers. We want to continue to be champions for mental health awareness.

This year we want to provide a classroom environment that has a multitude of resources that will help our JAG participants develop healthy social and coping skills to deal with problems.

If we create a strong foundation among ourselves, then we will be able to support our peers confidently and develop a better BC2M program.

The conversation cards, bean bag chairs, and other materials we are requesting will help our JAG Program and BC2M Initiative create a safe space for us to dialogue about our emotions, fail without fear, and most importantly trust one another. In addition, we can share these resources with our school campus to continue the conversation about mental health.
