My Project

With students facing trauma in their life seeking out healthy coping strategies and learning to utilize them on a daily basis is an important part of their transition from high school into the adult world. As we seek to develop healthy coping strategies and positive mental health techniques to overcome adversity in our daily lives students will be able to face one less barrier in being provided snacks to combat hunger and therefor lessening their mental load.

These snacks will be used in conjunction with small group times of transition where we will teach, learn and utilize mindfulness exercises to best equip students for facing the mental challenges that come along with graduation, transitions, college and careers.

They will meet the immediate mental health need of hunger and allow students to fully engage in sessions and remain calm and comfortable.

Our goal will be to use these snacks to ensure hunger is not an issue as we deal with mental health strategies needed to deal with anger, stress and anxiety that may be faced on a daily basis.

Ms. Parks Armstrong High School Grades 9-12
