My Project

Our 12:1:1 class is a group of extraordinary learners in a middle school special education setting. Part of supporting our students is making sure that their social emotional needs are being met.

Our project will provide a calming corner in the classroom with a bean bag chair and weighted blanket to help de-escalate students during a mental health crisis.

Teaching our students coping techniques when they are feeling overwhelmed or in crisis is an important life skill, and the materials that we are requesting in this project will allow our students to learn to self-regulate. Your support will help our students become more independent and regulated so that they can continue to learn and grow.
