Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a Title I school with a heavy newcomer people. Many of the students are English language learners who are eager for ways to connect and communicate in their new home. Music, the universal language, is a way for these students to connect to each other and those in our community that doesn’t speak their native language. Playing music together enables the newcomers to gain a level of comfort with their new classmates, and bridges the gap between us all. The powerful connections that I have seen music create and develop are invaluable. Thank you for helping keep this going.
