Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I will be using the materials during counseling with students. My students have a variety of needs, including anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and depression. I work with students in grades K-12 and provide counseling that help them achieve not only their IEP goals, but also their personal goals.

I've found that students are highly motivated by snacks, and most of them enjoy being creative and doing art activities and/or games in counseling!

For example, last week, students completed a personal "mood board" collage using cutouts from magazines, stickers, and their own art to help them visualize their aspirations for the future. With these supplies, I will make counseling more interactive and enjoyable for students.
