This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students drop into our independent study program only when they want or need help. Well, some kids still come every day, whether they need our help or not, to give them a peaceful place to work.
Part of the reason students come to school is to get the opportunity to eat or they need a safe place to hang out for the day.
Help me provide more snacks to help feed their bellies and hygiene items to give them one less thing to worry about. When dealing with food insecurity or hygiene issues, it is hard to focus on the world around you, and often leads to mental health issues.
When students aren't worried about these issues, they can focus on positive things around them. So, by us sharing these items, they can go have a more peaceful mindset.
