Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My neuroscience class is doing a unit on mental health this year. The culminating experience will be to teach coping skills to younger students in the lower high school and middle school. These students will lead stationed demonstrations and speak to the students on how mental health can impact their brain and daily life.

Mental health is such an important topic being covered in my school this year and the neuroscience class is working hard to understand the long lasting effects of stress on the brain.

This project will give them resources to be able to give researched advice to younger students and hopefully help them in the process of their own learning. All students will get a chance to showcase what they have learned but also become masters of their knowledge by passing it down to other groups of students.
