Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

High school students face increasing pressures—academic, social, and emotional. To support their mental well-being, we need a space where students can recharge, connect, and engage in positive activities that help them manage stress. I'm requesting your support to create a Mental Health Oasis—a safe, interactive space equipped with calming and social tools to help students thrive and enjoy each other.

This space will include:

games promoting teamwork and communication,

conversation starter cards encouraging meaningful discussions,

fidget toys to help manage anxiety and

building blocks to foster creativity and stress relief.

Students can use this space to relax, unwind, or take a break from the pressures of the school day. It will provide opportunities for connection, socialization, and emotional expression in a non-judgmental environment.

How It Will Be Used:

Breaks: Students can visit the space during lunch or free periods to relax with games or fidgets.

Peer Support: Students can build connections with others by engaging in group activities, playing games, or using conversation cards.

Mindfulness: The fidget tools and building blocks will allow students to practice mindfulness and manage stress.

Why It Matters:

Creating a designated mental health space will help students build emotional resilience, improve social skills, and reduce anxiety. It will give them the tools to navigate high school with confidence, knowing they have a supportive, safe environment to turn to.
