Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sensory toys in the classroom can play a pivotal role in helping students who are struggling with emotional trauma outside of school. For many children, the effects of trauma can manifest as anxiety, stress, or difficulty focusing, making it hard for them to engage fully in their learning. Sensory tools, such as fidget toys or stress-relief items, offer a simple but effective way for students to ground themselves and regulate their emotions. These small, often overlooked resources provide a sense of calm, allowing students to release pent-up anxiety and refocus their attention on the lesson. By incorporating sensory toys into the classroom, we create a space where students feel safe and supported, helping them overcome emotional barriers and succeed in their academic journey, despite the challenges they may face outside of school. It’s a reminder that sometimes, healing and growth start with small, thoughtful gestures.
