My Project

I teach a very unique bunch of students who live in a residential care and treatment facility. They reside at the community for many different reasons, from many different diverse backgrounds, and all come from trauma of some kind. One of the main priorities in my classroom is supporting my students mental health from the staffing to the structure and environment of my room. My classroom is unique in that it is not always a "in desk room". I have areas in my classroom where students can go to take time for themselves to get in a good mental space. My goal is for my students to feel safe, secure, and supported so they can focus on learning. The items I am requesting will help me to be able to provide for my students needs so they can learn coping skills in order to deal with their trauma so they can grow, learn, and bring their amazing skills and creativity out to society.
