Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials provide students with a relaxing area of the room to disconnect briefly from an environment that may be too overstimulating for the individual. Students will be allowed to it in chairs to complete assignments, use sensory objects provided by the teacher, complete an emotional check-in with the teacher or counselor, and take brain breaks when deemed necessary. Mental health is important, so it is important to make the station comfortable with soft lighting, comfortable furniture for the students to sit on, and school supplies to complete work. The shelving unit will serve as the host to the sensory objects provided to the students, as well as a place for students to turn in their work, fill out check-in sheets and reach for books provided by the instructor.
