My Project

In today’s civics and government classroom at ACHS, addressing the mental health needs of students is more crucial than ever. Our diverse student body, many of whom face significant challenges both inside and outside the classroom, would greatly benefit from a supportive and engaging learning environment. This grant seeks funding to enhance our classroom with essential materials: extension cords for Chromebooks, a world map, sign holders for warm-up activities, and an alphabet poster for the wall. These tools will create a more organized and visually stimulating space that encourages active participation and reduces the stress often associated with navigating complex topics in civics and government.

The materials purchased will directly impact our students, over 70% of whom belong to minority groups and more than 65% of whom receive free and reduced lunch.

By creating a classroom environment that is more conducive to learning, we aim to reduce the anxiety and stress that many teens experience. The world map and alphabet poster will serve as visual aids that support comprehension, while the extension cords and sign holders will ensure that all students can fully engage with the digital and physical aspects of the curriculum. With your support, we can create a space that not only educates but also nurtures the mental well-being of our students.
