This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing snacks during a Mental Health Awareness event, especially for students, can be beneficial for several reasons:

1.

**Promotes Focus and Engagement**: Hunger can make it hard to focus. Having snacks available ensures students can stay focused on the discussions and activities, increasing their engagement.

2. **Improves Mood**: Nutritious snacks help regulate blood sugar levels, which can directly affect mood and energy levels. Providing snacks like fruits, nuts, or granola bars can help maintain a positive atmosphere.

3. **Encourages Participation**: Snacks can serve as an incentive, making students feel more comfortable and encouraged to participate. A relaxed environment can help foster openness when discussing mental health issues.

4. **Breaks the Ice**: Offering snacks can help create a welcoming and inclusive environment, encouraging students to socialize and feel more at ease during potentially sensitive discussions.

5. **Mental Health Connection**: Nutrition and mental health are linked. Discussing the importance of a balanced diet while offering healthy snacks can be a practical example of how food impacts mental well-being.
