Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

New York City has experienced an influx of New New Yorkers over the course of the last two years. Traveling to a new home, a new city, a new school comes with with many challenges mentally, sometimes physically, and emotionally. Being uprooted from your home and family is not easy.

The mental health of our newcomers is at the forefront of our concern as educators; I want to ensure that my students are feeling loved, welcomed, and celebrated in my classroom and as a whole within the school community.

These items will help ensure that these wonderful young people sitting in my English as New Language classes are feeling exactly that...LOVED. WELCOMED. CELEBRATED.
