My Project

A positive environment goes a long way in promoting learning and mental wellness for students. My classroom is located in an interior room and has no natural lighting, and my annual supplies budget does not come close to enough to improve the atmosphere.

I am hoping to get these supplies to drastically improve the atmosphere in my gloomy classroom by using these materials to create a more inviting environment for students while they complete work in my classroom.

Additionally, many of my students shown that they express themselves artistically, whether that is through detailed drawings or even mindless doodling and coloring. I also have many students with interests in Legos, and think that a mindful activity that is still relevant to some class work is putting together models.

As a teacher, club advisor, and coach, I have many students who stop in my room throughout their day during a study hall or off period for a break from some of their classwork. I'd love to make the environment for calming for the many students who come through my classroom, as well as add additional materials to allow them to mindfully (or mindlessly) draw, color, or show off other artistic abilities.
