My Project

I want to create a calming corner for my students. The office chairs and mat will be used for students to relax and discuss conflict. The white board will be used to write out feeling words so that students can describe how they feel on Harvard's SEL ruler. The file cabinet will hold worksheets and laminated resources for student use.

The purpose of this corner will be for my students to have an area to take a break and work out social issues with their partners.

This calming corner will also benefit students by allowing them to learn about healthy coping mechanisms when dealing with stressful situations that arise in the modern classroom. This area will serve roughly 150 students.
