My Project

For this proposal, I am requesting a class set of workbooks, titled, “Shadow Work Journal for Black Men: A Guided Mental Health Journal for Healing and Self-Discovery”, aimed to teach the members of my boys club how to regulate and process emotions in order to help them stabilize their mental health.

The boys club is for young men of color to foster brotherhood, communication skills, and emotional and academic support.

In our group sessions, we do various group activities that develop teamwork among members. We delve into deep and often difficult conversations around the importance of self-care, healing, and acceptance. We also discuss strategies to navigate a world that creates obstacles and hardships. We work as a brotherhood building up our individual strengths to persevere and succeed. These books are manifestation journals that have over 100 prompts to work on mental health and healing.

Mr. Brock Queens High School of Teaching Grades 9-12
