My Project

I'm excited to create a warm and welcoming space where every student feels safe and supported the moment they step into my classroom. I love fostering an environment that not only encourages learning but also allows students to feel truly comfortable. One way I do this is by using warm lighting, which can help reduce anxiety and stress.

Along with building a nurturing atmosphere, I’m eager to incorporate more “brain breaks” and mental wellness activities that can ease stress and boost emotional well-being.

Long class periods can be tough, especially without breaks, so I’m planning to use part of the project funding to gather supplies that will support these mental wellness initiatives. For instance, we could introduce activities like using stress balls or engaging in coloring sessions. These enjoyable, hands-on activities not only bring a sense of calm but also act as effective tools to help students manage stress both in and out of school. Activities like these can greatly enhance their focus, relaxation, and overall mental health.

By increasing access to these mental health resources and activities, we can make a significant positive impact on our students’ well-being, which is crucial for their success both inside and outside the classroom.
