My Project

My students will learn to identify their feelings and get comfortable sharing their feelings. They will also learn coping skills. Those skills will help them self-regulate during classroom instruction.

The goal is for them to become emotionally aware of themselves and gain emotional intelligence as well as social skills.

My students come from marginalized communities where they were not taught how to cope but instead, they were taught how to survive. With the lack of coping skills, they have a hard time self-regulating in the classroom. Most of my students get all of their resources in school and our school lost a lot of funding to the point we had to excess two teachers.
