Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our sixth-grade students face financial and home-life challenges that limit their access to basic necessities, including feminine hygiene products. We are requesting funding to provide essential feminine products such as pads, liners, and wipes to ensure that students can focus on their education without the stress or embarrassment of not having the supplies they need. Lack of access to these products can lead to missed class time, decreased confidence, and unnecessary barriers to learning.

By making these items readily available at school, we can create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable and empowered.

The goal of this project is to promote dignity, confidence, and uninterrupted learning for all students who need these resources. By supplying feminine hygiene products, we can help eliminate a preventable reason for absenteeism and reduce the stigma surrounding menstruation. Our hope is that students will feel secure in knowing that their basic needs are met, allowing them to stay engaged in the classroom and participate fully in their education. This initiative also serves as an opportunity to educate students about self-care and personal health in a way that is inclusive and supportive.
