Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The use of anchor chart paper and whiteboards is essential in reading and math. I am excited to teach 3rd grade this year with the same group of students, and we just need your help in getting everything ready for this upcoming year.

My students come to the rug with whiteboards ready to learn.

The whiteboards allow me to check for understanding, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and the whiteboards slowly become stained from frequent use. When something doesn't work, students know that they must leave the rug quietly to get a new marker, new eraser, or the last choice, pencil, and paper. Even though they are great about doing this, it is a constant distraction when students have to share boards or find markers last minute and end up missing part of the lesson.

By donating to our project, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning in a cooperative group setting.
