My Students

My students are witty, fun, and excited to learn. Shelter in place has been difficult, but as a result, they are even more excited to learn. Any opportunity to get together online is sought out. Because so much is done on the computer now, they really benefit from having books in their hands and outdoor activities that get them off their digital screens.

My Project

As an English teacher, I try to provide examples, or anchors, that give my students an opportunity to see the writing they are attempting in action. With Trevor Noah's book, "Born A Crime: Young Readers Edition," I believe my students will have access to great writing, full of both humor and hardship.

I want my students to know that their lives matter.

Even now, as children, they are making an impact. Now is the time to help them see how they can best learn from their experiences. With this book, we will not only have access to exemplar writing, but they will see how even the smallest of moments can have immense value.
