My Students

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist who works with NYC middle school students with special needs in a low income area in Queens. My students are fun, spirited, and eager to communicate with each other! However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've been restricted to communicating through a device. It has been challenging working on all our social and language goals without the appropriate technology.

My Project

This has been a challenging school year, and we are only in month three. It is challenging to plan and implement effective technology driven teletherapy speech sessions for my remote learning students without the proper equipment. In order to properly teach and provide therapy virtually, the proper technology is necessary. The iMac that I am asking your help in acquiring will enable me to do such.

I will be able to effectively plan and implement lessons for my students to offer the maximum amount of communicative opportunities.

It will also allow me to ensure that all their documents related to their needs are completed, i.e., therapy notes, billing, updating progress reports and goals, and writing IEP's.

Virtual meetings with students will be a breeze! Modern technology is what we need to ensure that my students get the proper virtual speech therapy that they need and they deserve.
