My Project

Help me give my students an amazing holiday Gallium experience. We want to bring chemistry alive with this fun activity. Paint markers and glass balls will complete this festive experience.

One of the coolest materials we can use in Middle School Chemistry is Gallium!

This awesome metal melts in your hand. It's non-toxic and we can use it to make beautiful holiday ornaments.

This amazing metal is such a fun experience to engage adolescents in STEM.

This project is part of our chemistry unit and we are focusing on Changes in State. Gallium is a wonderful chance for our students to see melting in a substance that isn't water. Students will be able to melt the metal in their hand and then pour it into the glass ball.

This will give them a treasure to take home and enjoy. I love that this project involves both art and science and really helps the students see how energy can change the physical properties of a substance.
