My Project

My students are an inspiring group of curious, creative, and determined learners who light up our classroom with their energy. They come from diverse backgrounds, and music serves as a powerful bridge that unites us. Teaching them is my joy, and I love watching their confidence and skills grow each day.

This project will provide soprano recorders for each student in our elementary music classroom, integrating music education with the principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

Learning to play the recorder isn’t just about creating music—it also develops critical STEAM skills. Students explore patterns and mathematical relationships in rhythm and pitch, connect sound production to scientific principles like vibration and airflow, and engineer creative solutions when learning to collaborate during ensemble performances. By combining hands-on music-making with problem-solving, students are actively building skills that apply across disciplines.

My goal is to foster a love for learning while helping students develop creativity, perseverance, and teamwork. With personal recorders, every child will have the tools to practice, perform, and experience the transformative power of music. These instruments will allow us to dive deeper into the science of sound, create class-wide performances, and even explore technology by recording and analyzing our progress.

What makes my students special is their incredible potential—they are curious thinkers, eager learners, and resilient problem-solvers. They thrive when given opportunities to connect learning with real-world applications, and music is the perfect avenue to spark that curiosity. Your support for this project will equip them with the tools to succeed, inspire them to innovate and empower them to express themselves creatively. Together, we can help these young minds shine!
