Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm always excited to talk to my students and come up with a list of books that they would like to see in the classroom. I want them to have access to the books they might not get in other classrooms. I want them to see a book and be amazed that it is in this classroom.

Every year I ask my students what books do you want that you don't see and this list is their answer.

I'm hoping to continue to build a library that composes of books that students want and they see can see themselves in. Every student should find at least one book every year that lives with them for the rest of their lives. I'm hoping a few of these books can help do just that.

The impact of these books in the classroom is profound. They will be able to take the books they asked for home and read them in the comfort of their own room without any classroom distractions.

I've also included some printer supplies and pencils. My students eat pencils and the printer supplies help keep my classroom going from printing lesson plans daily to handouts that help students grow.
