My Students

My students are energetic, engaged, and eager. We are interested in our environment and preparing ourselves for an exciting year. This year we have goals, we have dreams, and we have steps to take to reach them.

My students deserve every opportunity to succeed.

I am excited to be at a new school this year. It has taken me a couple months to get settled in, but now I have a great idea of what our classroom could use in order to help us meet our academic goals.

My Project

Having a place in the room where all kiddos and teacher can come together is one of the most important parts of a classroom. It is where we meet to share ideas, inquire about interesting things, and learn new content. I have a 6' x 9' rug currently that has 25 squares.

As important as this rug is, my current rug does not offer us a great space.

I bought it from a retired teacher in Fort Collins so it came have seen many years in the classroom already. Additionally, it has fewer spots than I do students. I currently have 26 students in the room so one student has to sit off the rug. As well as not have enough space, the squares were a great size for the kids at the beginning of kinder because they were smaller. Now that they are are almost in first grade, they can no longer fit in their designated "square." I have many students who sit off the rug on their own accord to make more room for themselves. Lastly, it is also begin to fray around the edges. In particular, one corner is coming completely undo where the seam has been sown.

Overall, it is time for a new, improved meeting rug! I would really appreciate your donation!
