Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a group of highly active K1 Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) students. These students love circle time where they sing and interact with musical finger-play and build school community. They enjoy learning each others name and playing with hand-on manipulatives.

My students are awesome risk takers, explorers and mess makers!

You can hear them singing, talking, and being real, as they explore books, structures and water works with confidence. These four and five year olds however, are most interesting and exciting about the friends they make, embrace and treasure.

My Project

Having this early childhood and child- centered rug each student are able to self-regulate their seating position quickly and efficiently. Thereby supporting a warm and friendly circle time, story time and center- time.

With this Early learning rug the students will be able to build conceptual understand of structures and stability, explore a variety of giant learning floor puzzle and a just a comfortable place to commune with their friends and the entire K1 community.

They will also be able to have more exposure to the letters of the alphabet and corresponding pictures . As English Language Learners the Alphabet Activity Carpet will also support additional vocabulary building.
