Meeting All Students’ Needs in a Differently Abled Classroom.
My students need fine motor activities that are engaging but also educational. They need objects that are tactile and easy to manipulate. My current fine motor assortment is dismal at best.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
All my students are differently abled from a low income/below poverty line environment. They struggle with day to day life with a smile on their face and a determination so fierce it can only match that of a Lion’s attack.
This year, I will be teaching a student, who is blind.
This will be a new adventure for me because it’s a disability I don’t readily encounter. For this reason, I really do not have a lot of supplies to help him succeed. Any help would be amazing. Thank you!
My Project
People have a tendency to take for granted daily fine motor tasks, such as, using a lock to open a door, putting food in your mouth using a spoon, picking up trash left on the floor, etc. However, some individuals find these tasks hard, if not impossible. For this reason, my students need daily practice being able to manipulate objects with their hands. This will allow them to generalize the movements needed to be independent in their life. All the items listed will have a dual purpose. The puzzle board, laces, rods, and shapes will help my students fine motor coordination, and will also enhance their academic development. For example, the locks work on their number and letter recognition but also works on the fine motor task of a pinch and turn movement. The activities are engaging and fun. This will make it high interest for my students who get distracted easily.
