My Students

Our school has great diversity, but we are a low income school. The majority of our students receive free or reduced price lunches. We have families of immigrants, many broken families, and families that have to work a lot to make ends meet at home.

As a special education teacher, I want help promote a positive and fun learning environment while targeting all my students individual needs.

It is important that my students feel excited and eager to come to school and succeed in the classroom!

Our school works hard to bring everyone together in a warm and caring school community. As a school, we want the students to learn how to work together, and how to rely on each other, and the school, so that they are in a safe, and happy environment during the day.

My Project

My second grade students need a variety of different literacy centers to help them improve in their literacy skills. I am looking to prepare my new classroom with different centers to help promote various learning styles with a hands on approach.

By getting a variety of different centers my students can work on, sentence structure, phonics, word families, grammar, and reading comprehension to help them improve during our literacy block.

I want to make literacy fun and engaging, while giving my students the support they need while targeting individual needs. With different hands on literacy centers, my students will get the individualize help they need to be confident and succeed in reading and writing as they become more independent readers and writers.

Reading and writing is essential to my second graders, and will help them develop different concepts as they continue to grow.
