My Students

I teach kindergarten at a public school located in Brooklyn, New York. I have the cutest group of children. They are all so special in their own special ways. We are a Title I school, and most of the children come from low-income, non-English speaking homes. Many of them come to school just to have a meal and someone to actually care about them.

Things we often take for granted are often hard for my students to get.

I'm looking for ways for the children to get a better understanding and a love for school and reading.

My Project

Art is so important but, it is often forgotten about because the day isn't long enough. I love giving the chance for children to express themselves through art. There is so much a child can express through their art, especially if they aren't reading yet or they are just very shy and quiet. Please help me give my children the art materials they need to express themselves. Weather it is through finger-painting or just putting a googlie eye in the perfect spot, help me let them express themselves through art.
