This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is an honor to work with Medical Magnet students. Everyday that I get to interact with my students, it brings be joy that many of them are seeking to help people in diverse healthcare fields. As their Spanish teacher, I feel excited knowing that I am preparing my students to communicate and provide care for someone whose only language may be Spanish. In this medical theme lesson students will be placed in small groups and play various roles doing patient in-take in Spanish using the tools requested. There will be a nurse's assistant taking vital signs using the clipboard to take notes, and the doctor will be wearing the medical gown, stethoscope, and name tag for example "Dr. Gomez." Additionally to make the setting a little more realistic I want to have the doctors use the stools to sit in front of their patients as they ask for their patient symptoms, give diagnosis and treatment. Please help me give my students tools like: disposable medical gowns, stethoscopes, stools, clipboards and name tags for them to visualize (in their activities) what will soon be their aspiring reality.
