This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most educators feel their classroom of students are the best and greatest. Although I can't argue with their opinions, I happen to think that I have the best and greatest students on this planet. There isn't a day that I don't look forward to seeing their faces and seeing them develop in knowledge and wisdom before my eyes. I may be their teacher, but they teach me so many lessons each day as well. Last school year I had the honor of being my students' third-grade literacy teacher. For the 2016-2017 school year, I was granted the gift of being their teacher again.

My students attend a Title l school located in the South Bronx in which 30% live in shelters.

Despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis, they are always eager to learn and never give up hope. As their teacher, I buy the majority of the materials they need to help them achieve their academic goals out of my own pocket because I want to provide them with the opportunities to learn and experience things they never imagined. I want to instill the joy that learning can bring regardless of the challenges within their own life.

My Project

The mobile media cart that I am requesting is an essential for utilizing classroom technology. Additionally, your donation to this project will help to create more room within our already tight classroom. We have large, bulky tables and chairs which make it difficult to keep our technology in one organized place. This cart will be used to keep our document camera, classroom laptop that connects to our class SmartBoard and printer in one spot so that every individual in the class can have access to the technology without having to go to a different location in the room.

This greatest indicator of an effective classroom is the organization and use of every space within the room to make learning more accessible to each student.

The mobile media cart will help my students to access our classroom's technology and media efficiently and safely. It will maintain all the necessary technology items in an organized manner and create more space, with less mess for student's learning. The cart will also provide an opportunity for students to further interact with our class technology. Students will be able to place their work on the cart under the document camera to be projected onto the SmartBoard. With the usage of the cart, students would no longer need to find extra tables to place our technology, instead, everything will be in one place.
