My students are eager to get moving after spending the last 18 months at home during online learning. My students are energetic and enthusiastic learners, and they appreciate participating in physical education classes.
My students love to learn new sports, and variations on the classics.
At-home learning did not allow for much progression in Physical Education skills and activities, therefore I try to meet my students where they are physically right now, and to make increasing progress towards physical fitness goals.
My Project
The global pandemic has greatly impacted the physical fitness levels of my students. My school did not offer Physical Education during the at-home learning portion of the year, and when students returned to campus, fitness levels and skills have diminished.
The Apple Watch in this project will be used by students to measure and monitor their own heart rates, and to create and monitor activity levels and fitness goals.
Several of my students get discouraged during PE class, but using this watch will help them to understand their own progress towards individualized goals, resulting in motivation and engagement.
