My Project
My students are the epitome of resilience. I work on a Title 1 campus where more than 90% of our students qualify for free lunch. My students face many challenges in their home situations and still show up ready to learn. Many of my students lack the means to have basic school supplies. I can't control the situations my students leave at home; however, I can level the playing field in the classroom. By having activities that do not require supplies or giving access to needed supplies, my classroom becomes equitable. Giving students a sense of accomplishment in the classroom can help them to matriculate and have college as an option.
