My Students
Technology is a fundamental piece of work and learning that all students need to practice and improve on throughout their days in school. Continuing to keep resources in their hands can be crucial.
We need to keep these kids engaged with literature and technology so that they might build the skills they need to succeed in college and beyond.
These students come to my class already at a disadvantage because we are a Title I school. However, just because we lack the funds does not mean we lack the drive to succeed. The students who enter my class are yearning for knowledge and information. They have personality and drive unlike any other. They need the close interaction in social situations to thrive and develop the skills they need for the future.
My Project
An iPad in class would allow for many resources to promote literacy in our classroom. One of the most important things we do is come better readers. We can have an extended supply of resources through our local library. They provide an app that allows for students to electronically take out books and reader them just as one would the physical library.
We could have an unlimited resource of literature that would engage students and help them grow as readers.
In addition, we would be using the technology to access Scholastic online. That gives students the opportunity to read engaging nonfiction texts as well.
