Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am an educator at a Title I school. Unfortunately, many of my students face challenges that prevent them from visiting their local library very often. For this reason, I am committed to fostering a love of reading in every student and making it an enjoyable and desirable experience.

One way to do this is through our classroom library, an essential tool for achieving this goal today.

However, it needs an update to continue to engage and inspire my 3rd-grade students truly. The items I am requesting are new books and series that are of high interest for my students this year, a comfortable cushion with pillows to motivate the students, and a timer for rotating the use of the library by groups for my 22 students. I believe these items will spark excitement in my students and encourage them to continue to explore the world of reading in many ways today and in the future.

Ms. Castellanos will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 25.
