Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because not only are they attending an AVID campus, but they are also a part of the ICLE Model School community. The student's abilities range from Level One ESL to PreAP, and this lends itself to a very high functioning classroom.

However, our students had to start the school year with some major obstacles ahead of them besides attending a Title I school, many of their teachers lost everything due to the hurricane.

We are currently getting a new roof, but we have lost desks and seating areas for our students. Some of my classes don't have enough seating, and up until a gracious donor who supplied my class with new tables and chairs, my students suffered the same fate

My Project

Due to some unexpected health issues, I will have to have surgery soon, and I wanted to still give my students the opportunity to work on the programs I have invested in for this school year without missing out on the advancements of discovering Reading/Writing skills using these programs.

The four ASUS Chromebooks will give the small-group experience a whole new meaning as each group will have the chance to enhance their responses to Reading/Writing assignments, (especially for those who don't have this access at home), because this is a Title I school.

We want the best for our students.
