My Students

Do you remember what it was like when you didn't want to be at school? My students have not yet discovered how fun learning can be.

We are raising our future generation.

We need to instill the desire to learn in ALL students! Many of my students come from broken homes and have a difficult time excelling in the demanding academic environment I have created. I am here to show them that learning can be fun, exciting, and rewarding. I believe in rewarding positive behavior. It is difficult for my students to learn when they are hungry or tired. Unfortunately, my students are often hungry and tired!

My Project

All the materials I have requested will be used every day in my classroom. Math is a subject that some kids learn to hate. I want to make my Math classroom inviting and fun! I want my students to know that we will have a lot of work to do, but it will be worth it! My students will learn to be successful in the Math classroom. They will work together to make and reach common goals. I have requested basic school supplies (colored pencils and markers) that make writing and notetaking more fun. I also need bins to put the school supplies in, in order for the students to access them easily. I have requested several materials that the students can play with outside to encourage physical activity. My students love to play outside and I am hesitant to take them outside because of lack of materials. I can use outside physical activity to motivate what is happening in the classroom. Last, the books I have requested are of high interest to my students. I will check these out to students to encourage reading.

My students need so much!

They need food, sleep, and most of all, a safe and engaging classroom environment where they can excel academically. My students need to feel the joy and success that comes with learning.
