My Students

Our students are amazing. They are active and eager to learn. They are curious about everything, whether it be a new word or a rogue cricket that happens to wander into our classrooms. Our students are bright, resourceful, and full of imagination.

We have the most amazing students around!

Our school is in a very high-poverty area where 100% of the students receive free lunch. Though our students do not have many resources at home, they come to school happy and excited to start the day. They are truly inspirational.

My Project

As we move into Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI), students are asked to not only solve problems but to also write their thought processes. When presented with a problem, students are asked to make a plan to solve the problem, test their answers, and explain and defend (in writing) their solutions. The math journals I am requesting will allow students to practice higher-level thinking.

Your donation will make an enormous impact on my students, especially those that are struggling in math.

My students will enjoy the math games and will use them to formulate problems. The math journals will be very helpful for daily problem-solving. We will use them to practice solving problems and writing about how they solved them.
