My Students

My students often begin school only days after entering the Unites States. For many, their entry into school is their first experience with American culture, academics, and the English language. Imagine starting school and not being able to understand what is being said and not being able to make yourself understood!

I teach in a Title 1 school with a high immigrant/low income population.

My students are incredibly hard-working and creative. It's a joy to help them achieve their best.

My Project

Young mathematicians need to be prepared to do math. These materials will provide my students with the best tools for doing mathematics. A quad notebook is a useful tool for lining up numbers, making charts and tables, drawing out solutions and even making graphs. If we had colored pencils our work would shine. Colored pencils are perfect for neat, colorful explanations and awesome work!

Last year less than half of my students provided the necessary school supplies for the year.

These supplies will ensure that every one of my students will start the year out on the right foot, prepared to engage in learning.
