My Students

My twenty-five third grade students are very enthusiastic when it comes to mathematics in the classroom. They love using various strategies to solve multi-step problems involving several mathematical operations.

They are a wonderful community of respectful students who encourage and help each other to become successful learners.

My students are extremely intelligent with a willingness to share their knowledge of mathematics

My culturally diverse class of twenty-five students are capable of great compassion. They celebrate being unique individuals with common goals.

My Project

Students will use these Fire HD 10" tablets to work independently on Common Core Mathematical standards. Specifically, they will focus on making sense of problems and persevere in solving them. Students will be using ST Math to reason abstractly and quantitatively, attend to precision and to create mathematical models.

My students will be engaged in ST Math, a visual-spatial mathematical problem solving program, which allows them to progress at their own pace.

Students will develop understanding of abstract symbols and procedures to solve problems. Each child receives immediate feedback as they progress through the levels. This ensures mastery of the concepts taught at each stage of learning. Finally, the use of visual models encourages students to solve increasingly complex mathematical problems.
