Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is full of energetic, dual language, third-grade students who enjoy learning. They live in a low poverty area in the Bronx. Some students are newcomers, and others live with parents who can't help financially. My students are bilingual learners who love to do math and get together to share their learning.

Most of my students are struggling with math, and with manipulatives in the classroom, they can get fast-paced practice with their math skills.

My Project

Math manipulatives are good, motivational tools in education. These manipulative can teach students to learn using physical objects. These tools will engage my students in hands-on learning of basic math skills, like multiplication facts, fractions, area, and accomplishing goals while simultaneously having fun.

My project consists in having math manipulatives, like Fractions Hands On Giant Magnetic Fractions and Multiplication arrays.

Math manipulatives can teach important social skills, such as communicating verbally, sharing, and waiting. Also, they will learn to take turns, and enjoy interaction with others. Math manipulatives can foster the ability to focus and remember multiplication facts and identify fractions on a number line.
