Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you first learned how to count? Young children are excited to learn how to count and recognize math concepts such as shapes and colors.
My special needs students love math.
They love to count and play number games, but our classroom lacks resources to help keep them motivated. They easily get frustrated when they forget a number or shape and are in needs of fun and colorful hands-on materials that will motivate them to keep trying.
My Project
The materials that I have requested will allow my students to practice basic math skills taught throughout the year. I will be able to create math centers, where each student will be able to choose a center with a math activity that will reinforce numbers, patterns, shapes, colors, addition and subtraction. The counting boards will also be used when a student gets frustrated and needs a break from a challenging concept. The numbers lines will help my students learn their numbers and add and subtract as well.
This project is essential to help my struggling young students meet their goals for the school year.
These materials will allow them to learn in a fun way and feel confident about themselves as well.
