This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work at a school where the children are growing up in an environment where most people count them out before they even get a chance to get started. The majority of them live in a low income housing project just outside of the school. 100% of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. They're growing up in a place where people expect them to become a product of their environment.
My students will get the chance to be ALL that they can be!
My Project
With your help, I'll be able to easily reach more students. As the math specialist for my school, I go around to the different classrooms to aid in math small groups and lessons. With these laptops, I'll be able to travel from the math trailer into the main building with ease. It will enable me to pull my math small groups without having to search for the necessary technology for them. During testing season, when a child gets kicked out of the test, I must have access to a computer in order to reinstate them into their test. With my own laptops, this would enable me to not have to sit at a desktop all day, but be readily available to aid in their testing success.
