Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are full of curiosity. They love to work as a community and thrive when they are asked to come up with solution to challenges. Our classroom charter says they want to feel accomplished, safe to take risks, and celebrated. With your help they will be able to build their self-esteem and broaden their horizons.

Many of my students are new to our country and they need to acquire the skills that will make them successful in their new home.

Like many immigrants they have settled in a vibrant city that presents many challenges. They are battling poverty everyday and its a fight they must win.

My Project

The calculators will be used to make computations quickly while maintaining appropriate rigor for seventh and eighth grade mathematics. The meter sticks will help my students understand decimals and fractions, while at the same time show them how they will apply it in the real world. We will use the graph chart paper to plot coordinates and create maps.

These materials will allow my students to access grade level concepts that other wise may be out of their reach.

Your help will make learning fun and take away some frustration. My students will be very thankful for your contribution to their education.
