Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Young learns love to learn via exploration, play, and hands on activities. In kindergarten we begin to explore measurement of length, weight, and capacity. Having the measurement centers would allow my little learners to learn these concepts through hands on exploration. This will not only teach them math but will also get them ready for science activities.

The items I’m asking for will allow for my students to use their hands, and play to learn our math concepts.

My students love to play alphabet bingo so I would like to give them the opportunity to play one of their favorite games during math center rotations as well.

Giving each of my students their own set of math supplies allows them a sense of responsibility and ownership in our classroom. I have given each student their own set of linking cubes, number cards, and dots cards which we store in ziplock bags that need to be replaced often, which is why I’m asking for the zip pouches. We work a lot with the number ten and having the magnetic 10 frames which they can each store in their pouches with their other supplies would allow them yet another hands on learning opportunity.
