Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year, I have been assigned to teach a math support class for 6th graders that are testing far below grade level, in order to help them gain better math skills. This group of students pose challenges other than their math skills, so I need to find creative and interesting ways to have them do practice tests and skill drills.

In order to promote student buy in and engagement, I am asking for whiteboard markers, project paper, as well as headphones for them to use on their online practice tests and assignments.

By having them utilize whiteboards for class practice, creating colorful booklets, and working on various online math outlets, I am hoping that not only will their skills improve, but so will their engagement.
