My Students

Do you remember the first time you fell in love with a book, or played a game with friends and ended up with a great story? My students not only love stories, but story telling. They are creative and their desire to collaborate in telling stories is voracious. Being a small, rural, Title 1 school leaves us with an excess of ability and desire as well as a dire lack of resources.

These students thrive despite a lack of opportunity; with the right resources they would be truly limitless.

My students range in grade from 6th-9th, Special Education and General Education, and I see them for everything from remedial reading, to behavior and life skills, to Algebra 1. In every grade and subject I try to help foster an interest and love of reading. They deserve the opportunity to develop those skills and flex their creative muscles.

My Project

Math is a subject where students tend to struggle. By adding calculator organizers to my room, students will have the ability to interact with our class space in a more direct way and will spend more time working on class and less time preparing to get started.

All of my students prefer to work off of the projector I have in my room.

I have very limited space on my whiteboard and constantly run out of room for activities. By using my iPad as a digital whiteboard, not only do I never run out of space, but I can create and save lessons as well. A stylus will help immensely.
