My project consists of a math center, 3 math game kits, sing and learn math posters and CDs, and a geometry riddle flip book kit, because the students I will be teaching this year all struggle with basic math concepts.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am a first time 2nd grade teacher at George H. Fisher Elementary School. For the past three years I have been a special education inclusion and self-contained teacher for grades K-6.
Because of my exposure to multiple grade levels and various student abilities, I have been fortunate to observe and develop practices that have promoted student interest and knowledge retention in math. I have found that ALL students grasp math concepts when they are taught using the hands-on, exploratory approach. Unfortunately, I do not have any hands-on math activities/games of my own as I have always been expected to use other teacher's materials.
My project consists of a math center, 3 math game kits, sing and learn math posters and CDs, and a geometry riddle flip book kit, because the students I will be teaching this year all struggle with basic math concepts and (most importantly) all of these inviting items address the primary math standards that we will be addressing this year and promote a sense of community.
I greatly appreciate any help DonorsChoose could give and thank you in advance for helping improve my student's math abilities.
